LSA is a creative design studio providing architecture, interior, and product design services. Collaboration is key to delivering fully integrated designs, we work closely with an interdisciplinary group of collaborators & consultants to provide the best possible solution for each project.
Our projects range in scale from small products, furniture design, installations, to residential home additions & custom new builds, to large mixed-use & cultural buildings. We believe design to be a process of discovery & innovation that begins with a client’s specific aspirations, program, site, & budget, and we guide & advise our clients throughout the entirety of the design process.
We work in the present to shape our future in a sustainable manner, while being considerate and respectful of the past. Context and precedent inform our approach but the design will always be forward looking without any predefined stylized references.
We are located in the New York City Metropolitan area and work both domestically and abroad. Our diverse backgrounds bring together a global approach to design that is sensitive to local customs, traditions, available materials, and building techniques.
Innovation is fundamental to our process and drives our ongoing design research & formal experimentation. We strive to think outside the box, to push boundaries, and to develop designs that are not just beautiful but also meaningful & purposeful.
Architecture is the amalgamation of the arts and sciences that culminates in the built environment we inhabit. Technology is the fruit of creativity & innovation. We exploit existing technologies & digital tools throughout the design process and develop fully coordinated 3d BIM models for construction coordination.
Lúcio Santos
Lúcio is a registered architect in the state of New York & New Jersey, a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He received a Master of Architecture and Urbanism degree from the Architectural Association in London Design Research Lab, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology School of Architecture.
His work experience spans across North America, Europe, and the Middle East where he has worked on projects ranging from small installations to high-end residential & mixed-use developments, infrastructure, hospitality, sports, educational, and cultural buildings. His work has been widely published and received numerous awards.
Prior to founding the studio Lúcio was a Senior Architect & Project Manager at BIG in New York City, an Associate & Lead Designer at FXCollaborative Architects, a Senior Designer at SOM, and a Project Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects in London. Lúcio has been an invited critic at the Architectural Association, Columbia University, City College of New York, and New York Institute of Technology.
